Waseca Biomes is a small, women-owned company based in Athens, Georgia. We have been building and self-publishing our educational materials for over twenty years. We value the systematic approach of the Montessori Method and strive to develop materials that isolate the principles being taught to help a guide introduce concepts and build a child’s skills in manageable increments.

Our materials emphasize building language skills in conjunction with environmental and cultural studies. Our products and lessons are easily integrated with traditional Montessori lessons and provide unique approaches to exploring our Universe and our planet with students. We believe that inviting children to learn about the world through biomes opens them up to the wonders of nature, stimulates their curiosity, and hones their critical thinking skills.

We Craft Box is an award winning monthly kids craft kit delivered to the home for kids ages 3-9. With a themed story, 4 or more coordinating crafts, easy to follow photo directions, and all materials included, that can be shared between 2 children, we’re helping busy families unplug from the screen and connect though creativity!

At Wild Learning®, we believe that the outdoor environment is the ideal classroom for children. Our curriculums, Wild Math® and Wild Reading® use nature as a tool for learning essential math and reading skills. Research has shown that learning outside can increase attention, is more engaging, and is naturally hands-on and multi-sensory.

Wild Math® reimagines math instruction for the natural outdoor environment. Fractions are modeled using mud pies, place value is introduced with bundles of sticks, multiplication is introduced by examining flower petals, and games replace worksheets.

Wild Reading® leads children through structured explicit instruction in phonological awareness skills, phonics, high-frequency words, writing, reading comprehension, language, and other key reading skills. Outdoor and hands on activities such as word squares, scavenger hunts, mammal search, sit spots, and word hopscotch make learning active, hands-on, and fun. 

Paint portraits with Frida Kahlo, create a zen garden with the Dalai Lama, build houses with Frank Lloyd Wright. Each monthly box comes with a biography from the NY Times Best-Selling “Who Was” series for ages 7-11 PLUS fun hands-on activities to spark curiosity and connect kids to their own possibilities.
