FineMark National Bank & Trust, a nationally chartered bank and trust company, today announced a $10,000 contribution to the Step Up For Students Scholarship Program.

This is the first time that FineMark National Bank & Trust has partnered with Step Up For Students which is funded by corporations with tax-credited donations.

“Step Up For Students is a remarkable organization that is genuinely interested in seeing children succeed by giving disadvantaged families the freedom to choose the best learning options for their children,” said Joseph R. Catti, president & CEO of FineMark. “Their mission to help improve education for children is aligned with FineMark’s vision to make a positive impact on the individuals, families and communities we serve. We are proud to support Step Up For Students.”

Step Up For Students helps administers the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, which allows recipients to choose between a scholarship that helps with private school tuition and fees, or one that assists with transportation costs to out-of-county public schools.

“We are thrilled to have FineMark National Bank & Trust as a partner in our quest to provide opportunities for educational choice to Florida families,” said Doug Tuthill, president of Step Up For Students. “We are grateful for their generosity and their commitment to making a difference in the community.”

During the 2015-16 school year, Step Up For Students is serving nearly 78,000 low-income students attending more than 1,500 participating schools throughout Florida. In Lee, Collier and Palm Beach Counties, 97 schools and more than 3,650 students participate in the program.
