Senate Bills 112 and 2510, as well as the state budget, have been passed by the Florida Legislature and have been signed into law by the Governor.

The following changes to Florida’s scholarship programs take effect July 1, 2025.

New Worlds Scholarship Accounts

Changes due to the state budget:

  • The Florida Legislature has provided no new funding for the New Worlds Scholarship Accounts for the 2025-26 school year. New scholarships will not be awarded.
  • Current New Worlds Scholarship Account recipients may continue to use their student’s remaining scholarship funds on approved items and services to support their child’s education.

Changes due to Senate Bill 2510:

  • IMPORTANT: Beginning July 1, 2025, all New Worlds Scholarship Accounts will begin a 1-year count of inactivity. Accounts with no spending activity from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2026, will be closed and funds returned to the state.

Personalized Education Program (PEP)

Changes due to the state budget:

  • The 2025-26 Award Amounts for the Personalized Education Program can be found here. Please note: We are updating our system to reflect the 2025-26 award amounts; however, this process may take a couple of weeks for all student records to update. This means that the student award details may continue to show the 2024-25 award amounts for now.

Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO) and Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) Programs

Changes due to the state budget:

  • The 2025-26 Award Amounts for the FTC and FES-EO Programs can be found here. Please note: We are updating our system to reflect the 2025-26 award amounts; however, this process may take a couple of weeks for all student records to update. This means that the student award details may continue to show the 2024-25 award amounts for now.

Transportation Stipend

Changes due to the state budget:

  • For the 2025-26 school year, the Florida Legislature has provided $3 million in funding for the Transportation Stipend.
  • At $750 per eligible household, the stipend will have a maximum capacity to serve 4,000 households. Please note: Due to the decrease in funding, not every family who received a stipend in the 2024-25 school year will receive one in 2025-26, even if they remain eligible.
  • All stipends must be distributed to awarded recipients by October 30, 2025.
  • Application priority will be given to renewing households. Any remaining stipends will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Family Empowerment Scholarship
for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA)

Please note: We are updating our system to reflect the 2025-26 award amounts; however, this process may take a couple of weeks for all student records to update. This means that the student award details may continue to show the 2024-25 award amounts for now.

Changes due to Senate Bill 112:

  • Early Steps Extended Option – The legislature has created the Early Steps Extended Option, which continues student enrollment in the Early Steps Program until the beginning of the school year following a child’s fourth birthday.
  • IMPORTANT: If a student is enrolled in the Early Steps Extended Option, they are ineligible to receive FES-UA.
