Special needs scholarships

Florida has created a new Personal Learning Scholarship Accounts program to help parents individualize the educational plans for their children with special needs.

We are getting ready for the next school year and you should be, too.
Renewal and new families may apply now for the 2015-16 school year, which begins in August 2015.

Please note: Funding is still available for Personal Learning Scholarship Accounts (PLSA) for the current school year (2014-15).

If you are a RENEWAL family, meaning that your child is currently receiving PLSA, and you would like to reapply for the 2015-16 school year, please click here.

If you are a NEW family interested in applying for a PLSA for the 2014-15 school year or the 2015-16 school year, please click here.

We have published a parent handbook and a provider handbook that include information on the Personal Learning Scholarship Account. Please click here to view the handbooks, which are located in the green sidebar of the page. Please continue to visit the website regularly, as these documents will be updated frequently.

Income-based scholarships

RENEWAL FAMILIES: You may now apply for the 2015-16 school year.
Attention: We are experiencing high call volume and long wait times in our Contact Center. If you have questions or concerns about your application, please be aware that you may experience a longer wait time. Questions you may have regarding required documentation, application service fee payment and other inquiries can be answered by logging into your parent login here.

If your child received an income-based Step Up scholarship for the current 2014-15 school year, click here to apply for the 2015-16 school year. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis (giving priority to renewal families) and the deadline to complete the online application AND submit all required documentation is April 30, 2015, so please apply early.

NEW FAMILIES will be able to apply in spring 2015.  Please continue to visit our site for more details. We also encourage you to sign up for our income-based interest list by clicking here, so you may receive notifications regarding the application season.

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year for the income-based scholarship.
