Hello. I’m here to share a few fun facts about Catholic schools. Did you know that over 99% of students who attend Catholic school graduate high school? They are also more likely to attend and graduate from college. Did you know Catholic school students are more civically engaged and more likely to vote? They are also more likely to attend Mass as an adult. There are many reasons to choose Catholic school, and these are just a few. Raise your hand if you attended Catholic school? (pause) Wow! Raise your hand if you are or have a student in Catholic school now. (pause) That is great!
Here in Florida, K-12 private school scholarships are available to help your child attend a Catholic school. With a Step Up scholarship, you can receive an average of $7,000 per year, per child to help pay Catholic school tuition and fees. For example, a family of four with an income up to $111,000 may qualify for a scholarship.
Dependent children of a reservist or active-duty member of the US Armed Forces may also qualify, regardless of household income. Please share this great opportunity with members of the community who you know may qualify. While your family may not qualify, maybe you know a family that would. Please share the information!
Through the administration of several scholarship programs, Step Up For Students provides scholarships that allow parents to pursue and engage in the most appropriate learning options for their children. Additional scholarships are available and information about each scholarship can be found on the Step Up website at SUFS.org/Catholic.
More information can also be found in this week’s bulletin. We hope you will consider sending your child to a Catholic school and are thankful a Catholic education is possible for families in Florida.
